ALDES compact heat recovery ventilators are designed to
exhaust stale indoor air and supply fresh air from outdoors.
The ALDES HRV is a technically advanced controlled mechanical
ventilation system designed to meet the requirements of modern,
tightly built and highly insulated homes. An HRV provides a consistent
supply of fresh air while lowering heating costs during the winter by
transferring heat from the exhaust air to the fresh air stream.
During the summer it also reduces the load on the air conditioner by
lowering the temperature of the fresh outdoor air. (For southern
climates, where air conditioning costs are the major concern, one of
the ERV models should be considered, because of their ability to
reduce the humidity of the fresh air as well as lowering the
temperature.) The system provides an economical solution for
excessive indoor humidity, odors, stuffiness, and other indoor air
pollutants. Sensible effectiveness 74-90%. With models from 75 to 450 CFM, ALDES
Residential HRV models can
meet the general ventilation requirements of homes from 1100 sq. ft. to 8000 sq.
ft. based on ASHRAE 62-1989 (0.35 Air Changes per Hour).
They can be ducted to provide exhaust from bathrooms and supply air to
bedrooms and main living areas or to the return side of a forced air heating
system. In this case, they provide the benefits of a centralized
ventilation system--quiet operation in bathrooms, fewer roof and wall
penetrations for exhaust fans, and more effective local ventilation in the
bathrooms by placing the exhaust grilles over the shower/tub enclosure.
A complete line of accessories, balancing supply and exhaust grilles,
sleeves, duct fittings, vent hoods, and convenient, attractive remote controls
such as interval and programmable timers, dehumidistats, etc are available to
complete the installation. An airflow balancing kit is available for sale
or rent.
Twelve larger units (up
to 2900 CFM) are available for commercial applications, including
heating and cooling modules, large buildings and swimming
pools.
